Who we are

Stuart Anderson is a Specialist Mentor and Study Skills Tutor who supports neurodivergent students in higher education. He provides one-to-one bespoke tutoring to help students cope with barriers to learning that typically affect people Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and ADHD. Stuart believes that with the right support, neurodivergent students can thrive at university and in the workplace following graduation.

Stuart has been teaching study skills for 15 years and holds various qualifications in teaching and linguistics, including a Master’s degree from Newcastle University, and is qualified mentor for students with ASC.

Stuart has worked as an academic and English tutor in Higher Education for 15 years. During that time, he has worked for the University of Manchester, Newcastle University, and Komazawa University (Tokyo). He also spent time teaching English in Norway and Ukraine.

In addition to his experience and education, Stuart is autistic/ADHD. Therefore, he is able to draw upon his lived experience of navigating the challenges of higher education when supporting students. This means that students know they are working with someone who truly understands their difficulties and that sessions are a safe, non-judgemental space.
